More ziggy stuff

This is mostly for my own record, since I reckon the only ones who'll actually know what I'm on about are [livejournal.com profile] mirrorshard, [livejournal.com profile] hecate_x_jones and maybe [livejournal.com profile] littlebluefish, also because I need to go SQUEEEEE somewhere :p

We did our very first flying change tonight!!

*squeeees*

Been working up to it for a while, with figure-8s - gradually reducing trot strides between changes - and changing lead over jumps, but this is the first time she's done it on the ground!
Also the first time *I'VE* ever done it too!

First time she got all thick because it was NEW and just cow-kicked; 2nd time didn't get it across the school, but I just kept asking and she finally did it on the 2nd corner (with much ears back and tail swishing) and we were both so suprised she stopped dead! Tried again and this time she got it at the 1st corner and kept going.

Left it at that for now and just had a few simple canters round to relax again.

But YAY we did it!
*dances*

Oh, wow, yes, SQUEE! Well done both of you!

So happy *dances*

It certainly wasn't pretty by any means, but now we KNOW we can do it, so we can work on it :)

I shall have her doing dressage yet ;p

Congratulations! Sounds great! Haven't a clue what it is, but who cares!

yay!! I didn't think she'd do it, but she did! We were both in shock I think ;)

It is a very Tricksy Thing, changing leading legs in canter without dropping down to trot, not easy for teh horse at all, but she did it!
