Gnah, postmen are STILL on strike. Tho apparently south Belfast is now getting post. No doubt because thats where the managers now doing the deliveries live... no post for the west alas :(

Also, Paul Berry has not only quit the DUP, he's dropped the legal action too. Surprising, not too long after the court said there was evidence that suggested he had been "less than candid" about the whole 'sports massage' thing. The moral of which seems to be that if you want to go have teh h0t mansex on the sly while remaining a member of the most homophobic & reactionary party around, try not to get yourself recorded talking about it, then lie about it. Or possibly just don't be a slimy little lying toad in the first place. Or a member of the DUP.

ION... Denist went well, no needles! In 2 minds about pub tonight, at the moment it seems like a good notion, but I suspect by the time I have been to the stables, got home and fed, I will be much more inclined to laze at the pc with a Nice Bottle of Something. This is obviously why going straight from work led to much more pubbing in Days of Yore.

Apparently (according to Citybeat!) if your post is more than 5 days late, you are entitled to compensatation. Not sure waht form this takes tho, or even how you go about getting it!

The whole Berry thing always makes me snigger and this latest bit just tops it all ;)

Will see re. pub, depends what time I get home at really.

it's Not Very Much, as far as i can tell - something about £10 per business day? i dunno if that's per letter or overall. certainly it will not compensate me for not being able to pay mileage and bills and expenses because i have no clue when Large Sums of Lovely Money will actually arrive here. :/

You should be able to get a temporary overdraft from your bank, as has happened to us when bloody Finance here 'forgot' to process our invoices for 3 month.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_unhurt_/ 2006-02-10 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
we have an overdraft already, and sadly it can only be embiggened by using property as collateral - and as The Boys only own half of their houses, they need permission from Sig Oths to do this (or rather, SOs also have to sign up), and it's a complicated process that needs wills etc. in case anyone falls prey to a bus or something.) thus are the joys of ltd companies and directorships - are you lot ltd? i'm not even sure if one of you is Supreme Commander or if you are a communistic rabble! ;)

basically, it can be done but it would take a fair amount of time. too much time! bah!

We're ltd and communistic, but I think we did manage to get just at temp. overdraft quite easily. But then we have a nice and regular source of income (when they remember to actually do it), which might make the difference.

Ps am transifixed by tombs site. So v. cool.

it's the magic words 'government contract' i expect! they probably believe this means you have reliable people sending you money (ha!) rather than feckless culchie quarry owners and the like.

*stabs quarry owners on general principles*
