Hmm.

Browsing thro the news, I find this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/4925290.stm - a proposal to build a nuclear power plant in Derry.

Pros and cons of nuclear power aside, who'd have thought even a few years ago, anyone would have considered building one in N.I. ?

We must be getting somewhere! Very very slowly. But we're getting there.
Look how happy Gerry is about it ;p

ION Had a lovely easter break, with much fun, sleeping, champagne and hairy nun porn. Now back at work trying to figure out what it is I'm supposed to be doing. Other than t'interneting of course.

You have to hope that even if they were still bombing everything in sight that they'd leave a nuclear power station alone, after all, nobody wants to toast the whole country for the next 50,000 years :P

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Do I recall wee signs at the county border saying 'a Nucululuear free county' for Derry? Or has my brain dribbled out my ears again?

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
It's in Derry tho. Which means a. you're assuming intelligence is involved anywhere along the line and b. would anyone notice?

It is somewhat encouraging that they'd even think of building it and are more worried about 'international terrorism' (cos we're such a hot target ;p) than local loonies. Some of whom, joking aside, would be entirely capable of thinking 'hey lets blow this up!' without thinking any further about the consequences.

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Possibly, it's a while since I've been up that way.
I wouldn't exactly be all for this myself, but, as I said above, the fact that they'd even consider it means we must be getting *somewhere*.

Also, I get to use the Gerry Icon more ;p

[identity profile] tyrell.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Is that Gerry fucking Adams? Get him off my screen :)

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
I want an icon of Gerry's beard

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
But look at him in his fez and his little car!!

The icon came about when Miv mistook me saying 'shinner' for 'shriner'. Hence Gerry the Shriner! It makes me laugh anyway ;p

[identity profile] tyrell.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. that's comedy :)

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Oops, meant to add link to explanation of the glory that is (are?) Shriners (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shriners)

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
don't you want to stroke his silky beard then?

*runs away*

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
It never fails to cheer me up ;)

[identity profile] tyrell.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
...

Okay, secret society: check.
Stupid headwear (http://home.earthlink.net/~xristos/GoldenDawn/officers.jpg) that they think is really significant: check.
Ancient and esoteric wisdom symbolised by ...driving around in Tiny Little Cars?! WTF?!

[identity profile] tyrell.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Really no, "no" quite a whole lot in fact.

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
And there you have the Glory that is/are Shriners. Fat middle-aged American Freemasons driving round in clown cars with fezzes on.

It's a beautiful thing, it really is.

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
I love the oul' beard......

(whenever Gerry lies, he strokes his beard. I believe his beard speaks to him at night)

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
It's things like this that make life worth living....

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
*looks at picture*

*chokes*

*looks some more*

thats... PRICELESS. Completely and utterly PRICELESS. Particularly the Saddamalike at the back.

Ok, its off to the car park again with the giggles...

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_unhurt_/ 2006-04-20 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
man on left? holding significant shriner sex-toy of some kind.

just sayin' like.

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Now I have to look at it AGAIN!

*steels self*

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
I just did.

Now I can't stop.

[identity profile] tyrell.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. These are the terrible super-sekrit members of The Golden Dawn, almost definitely from America.

It pretty much sums up my feelings on GD in one photo.

These guys are comedy too (http://www.correllian.com/symbolsandrobes.htm). (Bottom picture).

[identity profile] tyrell.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
Remember these guys? (http://www.correllian.com/symbolsandrobes.htm) (bottom pic)

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
AAAAAAAAAH
and second from bottom AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

[identity profile] being-here.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ah go on. You know you want to really.

[identity profile] tyrell.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not saying I don't want to be alone with the guy... preferably somewhere with no witnesses, and I've got this axe...

[identity profile] being-here.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
And after you'd finished you'd sit there stroking the beard. Go on - admit it.

(cheese graters are more fun then axes)

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
.... WOW.
Tho I am quite disappointed Lady Bitterwind didn't go for the much more magical spelling of Bytterwynde. But you can't have everything I guess!

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, he'd gently pick bits of the beard out of what's left and stick em back together with sticky tape and then start a-stroking. I reckon.

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
And why would you call yourself Bitterwind anyway? I'd call myself Lady UrLips or something like that.
