You know, deciding to round off the bank holiday weekend by drinking a bottle of wine and not going to bed til 2 may not have been the best idea ever, even if it did seem like a really good idea at the time.
Also have odd aches from the gardening yesterday - the horse has only been away a few weeks and already everything is seizing up, woe.

But less of the whinging, have finally got round to booking hotel and flights for London in June, hurrah!

Staying here, nearest tube stop is Kensington High st., for anyone wanting to come out for a pint or some on Saturday 17th June. There are a few pubs around there, best bet maybe to meet up in the hotel bar then decamp elsewhere (since it looks like it might well be horribly overpriced). Any recommendations/suggests welcome ;)

Other plans include window shopping, sleeping and possibly traipsing round a museum/gallery for a while.
The V&A is a strong contender, since I've never been there, it's not too far from the hotel and has a few exhibitions on, including one of various things the Che Guevara image has ended up on. Tho if anything like That Shirt is in there, might not be a good one to do with a hangover :p

ps [livejournal.com profile] leeda can you make pints after work on the Friday (16th) then? I can come find you I'm sure ;)

Hurrah! And you could always do what you did last time, bring Dan along and crash at his ;p

Or we could just find one of those new all night opening bars, who needs to go home?

I wholeheartedly recommend the V&A, it has shiny things. Many, many shiny things, and in fact more shiny things than dozens of mudders could shake very large sticks at.

Hmm, Dan might be a plan, I bet it's easier to get there from the Paddington line :)

I'm sure that [livejournal.com profile] adelpha and I will manage to be there for some of it. HSK is on the Green and Yellow lines, and they're easy to reach from Waterloo (yay for Travelcards)...

Yeah, tube-handiness was one of the reasons for picking that hotel. That and it looks v. fancy and has masseurs ;)

Aye, it's just a couple of stops down from Paddington, I was originally going to fly to Heathrow so checked that out. Then Stansted turned out to be MUCH cheaper and still fairly simple to get to so... this is fascinating I'm sure ;p

Yay, I shall have to pack a shaking stick now and test this out ;p

The Elephant and Castle looks promising. It's a bit small, but pretty nice. I've only been there once, in the late afternoon/early evening, but I liked it.

oh a pointing and shaking stick with which you could *point* at bad people *eyes [livejournal.com profile] malvino* and *shake* at people who eat their own icons for lunch *eyes [livejournal.com profile] dasquian*. Make sure you drink lots of drinks with BUBBLES in.

Smile.

Isn't it just ;) I am treating myself to luxury, since the only other holiday I'll get this year is going to involve lots of babysitting and very early wake up calls from toddlers and so on.
So this one is just for me!

The hotel has a champange and cocktail bar which I'm sure I'll be visiting at some point ;) Anyone else you'd like me to shake a stick at? What did Malvino do to you now anyway?

It does look good ;) A quick search also found the Greyhound (http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/87/875/Greyhound/Kensington), which has pool tables or the Settle Down (http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/clubs_bars/venue-2276.php) which does veggie food.
Might do a scout about during the day on Sat. and see where seems decent ;)
