The Joys of a Quiet Weekend.
Aug. 23rd, 2004 10:44 amI never used to do these much. For years I worked Sundays, so I really only had one day off and it was generally spent half asleep and half running about trying to sort out anything that needed done.
Then when I stopped working weekends, I'd spend as many weekends as possible running around, visiting people, going out or driving halfway across the country. Or messing with horses.
This year however I have learned to re-appreciated the joys of Nothing. Pub friday night, which was actually a lot more fun than I expected, left 11ish - while it was still fun!
Sat - slept, got up, watched crap film, had bath, went to look at cars but all the car showrooms were shut, so went home and spend the evening watching my lovely lovely Firefly dvds.
Sunday - slept, went up to stables (STILL NO BLOODY HORSE) so just hung out and chatted to people, then called to seen Claire-Next-Door and new baby for a bit, then watched Singing in the Rain and some crap tv til bedtime.
Was great, only drawback being all that hanging about the on the sofa meant lots of idle eating, which isn't so good.
But overall, a good weekend.
