The Perils of Mid-Week Drinking
Sep. 29th, 2004 01:03 pmOw ow and ouch. and Ow again. With some added 'woe my poor head' thrown in for good measure.
Damn my sister and her 'we're only going for a few drinks, we won't get *that* drunk'. Hah!
Still it was a good night, went to a comedy night which included an Australian guy even taller than
taffyd and lots of laughing and pints. All was going well, but then Sarah Emma decided she wanted to go to the Fly. For Cocktails. That is where the damage was done.
A jug of sex on the beach followed by cosmopolitans all round, leading to dancing to Bon Jovi and some spotty 19 yr old hitting on my sister and refusing to believe she wasn't interested despite her waving her wedding ring in his face and saying 'im not interested' very loudly.
Once the bar shut, having completely forgotten it was Tuesday, NOT friday, we all went back to my house, armed with crisps and chocolate, listened to the buzzcocks and drank wine. I *think* they left around 3.
Today is not going well. Stuck in work trying to make sense of an 18 page 'metadata review'...
Still, it was a good night and I was also celebrating doing better than expected in our mini dressage test. Ok we came last, but only by 1 point, and the girl who got that has been having lessons all summer and her horse is regularly schooled in dressage. I have a humpy hunter who's been in a field for 5 months and hates being indoors, so i am well pleased with the result! Plus we got a rosette and a HUGE bar of chocolate :p
