Another fairly quiet week so far.
The weekend was great, 3 nights of horsey extravaganza, lots of jumping and excellent riding. The 'entertainment' parts weren't as good as last year tho - the stunt riders did basically the same as last year in different outfits, but they were still pretty damn good at it.

The 'singing' tho *shudders* and the circus acts and the dog agility... we came there to see HORSES damnit! Not a woman bouncing on a bungee thing from the ceiling.
The dogs were very cute tho.

But the horses... wow. Absolute stunners. AND Black Beauty was there!! Also the Lloyds Bank horse for the uk people. The guy riding him was almost as stunning I have to say - and obviously very flexible too! *drools*

On Sat. JA came up to see the show and Sarah came up from dublin, we all went and met Lisa for tea (she went to the afternoon show with her sister and niece), then left Sarah & Lisa in the pub while JA and I went to see the show. Sat. night was Puissance night and it was fucking amazing. The last round they jumped 7'3"! How they do that I have no idea.
Afterwards we headed up to my house and drank champagne to the early hours, with much gossiping and giggling involved. Great stuff!

Had to get up at 9.30 AM on sunday tho to go let ziggy out. Ouch my head... made it tho and then went straight back to bed when I got home and stayed there til 2, then dragged myself out again to take Sarah to the train station, then back to the stables to muck out etc then drag Ziggy back in from the field after chasing her round it for half an hour. I was sorely tempted to just abandon her out there! But eventually in her running away she ran right to the gate so I nabbed her there.

Then home, food, quick change and back to the show again, for the Grand Prix this time. Skipped the "entertainment" to go shopping and had a good nosey round the stalls. The Grand Prix itself was amazing, huge jumps at great speed! Very exciting all round. A ton of pics are at http://eatin.fotopic.net/c360338.html if anyone is bored enough to look!

The rest of the week has been fairly quiet and dull. Possibly good as from Sat. things go into hectic christmas party mode. I really should do some shopping sometime

Why do so many resturants have 'pasta' as their only vegetarian option on set menus?

Am I the only person in the world that doesn't see the point in paying for a meal on a set menu I'm not actually going to eat any of? Not to mention the embarrassment factor of ordering a dish knowing I'm not going to eat it then having to send it back to the kitchen untouched, when theres absolutely nothing wrong with it.

And of course the mere suggestion that I skip the meal and just come along for the drinking has caused Horror and Consternation among the others, who seem to think Eating Out is the Holy Grail of Social Activities or something.

Am I also the the only person in the world who doesn't particularly enjoy eating out? Yes I know this is because I have Odde Tastes. But is it really such a crime to prefer indulging my odde tastes at home and eating food I like to having to pay good money to pretend to eat food I don't like and then having to apologise to the staff for having ordered it in the frist place.

GNAH.
Fucking Christmas.

Bah Humbug to it all I say!
