A social weekend
May. 23rd, 2005 11:00 amWhat was meant to be a quiet weekend kinda turned out otherwise ;p
Friday night, as already documented was much fun with cider. Saturday was a day of hangover hell - when I eventually did make it to the stables it took me nearly 3 hours to do what I'd normally do in about an hour. Was just finishing up and about to head home to collapse in front of Eurovision when I got a call from the UIM to say they were in the pub and did I want to come for pints and meet Seorse?
Figuring that since nothing else had even dented the hangover, hair of the dog might be my only saviour, and certainly wouldn't make me feel any WORSE, off I went.
The boys were hammered when I arrived, having been there since lunch time, but luckily Seorse got there at the same time as me so we spent the evening catching up, taking the piss and ridiculing Gav's new star wars wee men, particularly the Disco Clone Trooper (NOT a storm trooper). The boys also provided us with much amusement by falling over, which was good of them and Seorse joined in by firing a pint round herself, so a good time was had by all!
Rounded off the night with some smoke and Firefly with Alan, who went on incessantly about whether or not he should ask Alice out, til I threw things at him and he went home.
Sunday, back in hangover land (not surprisingly) but not quite the hell of sat - was even capable of riding. Took Ziggy out to the big back field where we had lots of fun galloping up hills in the rain and even doing very very small jumps.
Later on, after some quality sofa time, went to meet
tiquetoque who is in Belfast for a few days for work. Declined pints on my liver's behalf and got chinese and gossip instead. There may be pints tonight tho.
Sick cat is improving, eating again and looking more lively, but of course this just means getting the tablets in is much more difficult. Still the cuts should heal soon enough ;p
A fun weekend all round (apart from PAIN on sat.) but of course this meant I missed not only Dr. Who, but also Eurovision. I have similar problems with the Rose of Tralee, every year I fully intend to sit down and enjoy the tack-fest, but most years I end up missing them both. Ah well, there's always next year.
