And the housing doing-up progresses. Today, my mum, uncle and BiL are coming to help clear the crap out of the spare room, move stuff about and take up the carpet so I can get lovely New Carpet (the one in there is truly awful).

Apparently there is a skip coming so the garage is getting cleared out too. It's all go here!

However, I may have murdered my mother by lunchtime. She has done her utmost best to make sure I couldn't be here when she was doing this but I foiled that plan (hah!).
If she thinks I'm going to let her alone in the house for a second when there's a skip outside, she has another think coming ;p

I forsee many conversations along the lines of
'You don't want this, I'll throw it out.'
'No, I do want it, put it back.'
'Don't be silly of course you don't, its going out'
*cue reversion to stroppy teenager*
'I DO want it and it's MINE you can't throw it out this is MY house. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!11!1!!'
*door slamming and sulking*

Ahh families. Great things :p
Luckily she has to go at lunchtime to pick up the nephew from school. We may both come out of the day alive (just).
And of course I can always get my own back when I tell her I am going to London AGAIN this weekend. It will be worth it for the outraged HORROR on her face that I am foolishly wasting money having fun instead of sitting at home dusting or (even better) babysitting some nephews. There will be much tutting and muttering ;p

(We do actually get along great, we just have wildly different notions on how my life - and house - should be run and very similar short fuses :p)

UPDATE!
Spare room is totally cleared, new carpet is being fitted tomorrow, new bed bought (tho may not be delivered for a few weeks), there is a full skip full of stuff in the driveway and Uncle John is now pottering about clearing up the garage and making it Look Nice. Not sure quite why, but it seems to make him happy ;p

Now all I have to do is sort thro Stuff from spare room currently piled up on my bed and then I can get to the real business of sorting out the books onto New Shelves. There may be a bit of a cull too.

Pic meme!
