Aug. 15th, 2005 02:35 pmSo, whats been happening. I can't even remember when I last posted something that wasn't a meme. Don't worry tho, you haven't missed much :p
The weekend was more eventful tho.
littlebluefish and
kryptykfysh arrived friday evening, and altho the house was a tip, they did not mind too much and luckily, after I left them parked in the livingroom to go and ride Ziggy, the Tidy Up Fairies paid a visit and when I got back the kitchen was miraculously clean again!
Tho alas for the Tidy Up Fairies, they failed to observe the big white box with DISHWASHER written on it and washed the dishes by hand, but perhaps they don't have these things in fairyland.
The remainder of the evening was spend with take aways, alcohol and dvds and rounded off with drunking rantings about how crap work is.
Sat dawned bright and early, so Sally and I went to the stables and she had a go on the fat horse, which she enjoyed at the time but did lead to much thigh pain for the rest of the weekend. Got back home lunchtime-ish and after a great deal of 'omg what to wear' and flinging contents of wardrobe all over the room, we got ready to go. I was mid shower when the mother called to say she'd been burgled that morning while she was out.
So the next half hour or so was spent (damply) phoning the others and sorting out who would go down and when and so on. Luckily the neighbours came in to keep her company and make endless cups of tea til my brother could get down there. Oddly, all they took was some Waterford Crystal (including a particularly ugly clock) and an antique clock. None of her jewellery was taken, or anything of particular value, sentimental or otherwise thankfully. They did make a mess tho, going thro everything and emptying drawers, including dumping all the cards we got when Dad died onto the floor.
Once that was organised and was assured that mum was feeling better and didn't need me to go down, got dressed and went out for lunch and cocktails - mmm mojitos - then on to the Errigle for much MUCH drinking, accompanied by some angsting and rounded off by explaining in great detail to the chubby goth guy why his cane with the skull on top was silly because it had a lower jaw and THEY FALL OFF, while he started at me with that 'please make the crazy drunk lady go away' look.
Sunday was a DAY OF PAIN, alleviated only in brief snatches by the miracle of Tiger Balm. Cider and cocktails do NOT mix well. Pottered about moaning a lot til it was time to head down home, dropping S & B off at his mother's on the way.
Today has mostly been dull, particularly since
mivvvv is very selfishly off work and therefore depriving me of the usual steady stream of emails discussing how bored we are at work and the pros and cons of putting lizards in the Literary Masterpiece he is going to write. Woe is me.
Tonight we are going out for nice food, hopefully joined by
tiquetoque and possibly some UIM if we can get hold of them.
The weekend was more eventful tho.
