Oct. 1st, 2007 11:49 amHad an exciting start to this morning when, while tentatively putting new foot to the ground, the crutch slipped and I discovered quite dramatically that stupid ankle really can't take any weight at all and I ended up in a rather undignified heap on the ground. No real harm done, other than it swelling a bit, and giving the poor mother the fright of her life when she heard the crash.
Anyway. As it is now four months since I did this, I am sick of having nothing else to talk about and am thus declaring this week 'Don't Mention The Leg' Week.
The weekend went rather swimmingly really - Friday night chilled out with wine while watching rugby and so on.
Saturday was really very exciting as I got to go OUT to
_unhurt_'s birthday party, which involved heated debate over the eradication of smallpox, the relative merits of leprosy over TB, Dolly Parton, Hayseed Dixie, Greatest Country Hits and the Sham Wave - leading M. to declare as we left that it was "the culchiest party I've ever been to in the city". Which is quite the compliment coming from her ;)
I did wimp out and leave early-ish, as the trek to The Bathroom of Unhurt was a bit to Everest-like for me, and there were no sherpas on hand. I did get a Guard of Honour as I left tho. The bastards.
Sunday was a lovely lazy day in my own house, with a long lie-in, eating junk, mudding and watching rugby (not such a highlight), before return here to laze some more.
Today, I should really do some work.
