Dec. 22nd, 2008 11:26 amWorktops arrive today! Anytime now! In their shiny shiny lovely blackness. HUrrah!
Also handily gives me the morning off to recover from the weekend, which involved a substantial amount of alcohol.
Friday - work do, dinner and wine, then into nightclub. Which they then shut at 8 to clear everyone so they could charge to get back in later. So went to bar, drank vodka. Minions elected to go back to nightclub (foools), I remained in bar with J. from work and
_unhurt_ joined us. Much vodka was drunk (there was no cider :/).
Saturday began painfully. Twilight viewing plan was postponed in favour of going to watch the Strictly Come Dancing Final with friends. And Fizzy wines. LOTS of fizzy wines. And talking deep talks into the wee tiny hours. Which seemed like a very good idea at the time.
Less so sunday, which was mostly PAIN. And toast. And driving home down the Antrim Coast road, which is always a treat. Except for Larne.
Ooh. Also! I recieved a lovely present from
tardington, wrapped in lovely lobster paper. A thrilling book - "Taken By the Vikings", which i have been reading this morning (I did try reading the other one - Cat Scratch Fever - but it's really really bad ;p). The viking one is great. An tale of Epic Love in the middle ages. And very historically accurate I'm sure...
I wish the worktop men would hurry up and get here!
