Good Morning all! How are we today?
I am, thankfully, warmer now I am at work. And the boiler man is coming at lunchtime to see if he can fix whatever it was the tiling man fucked up. So that's good.

Had a mostly quiet weekend. Apart from getting possibly the best and yet most disturbing text EVER on saturday morning as I was shuffling about making breakfast to thaw out - "Dw. Now. Drakkos needs you." it read.
How could I not answer that summons?
Thankfully it turned out they were just having a reunion of sorts. And freaking out current creators by having most of 2001 log on and go HAI. Then sit in our cliquey club, catch up on gossip and bitch about everything, especially Elera. Good to see nothing much changes ;p

Other than that, weekend was spent largely down with family, cos they have houses with working heating, or curled up on sofa with blanket, electic heater and cats as foot warmers.

Heating fixing man was meant to come at lunchtime, he phoned just as I was leaving to say he'd been held up and he'd call about 6ish. Fair enough.

I leave work at 5 to be there in time. Get home half 5ish. and wait. And wait some more. Get changed to go ride Ziggy. Wait MOAR. Realise it is 6.45 and try phoning. Get 'this number is not available'. Wait some more. Phone again at 7. Still no answer. Mutter a lot

Give up and decide he's not coming and go to stables, thinking I would at least still have time for a short ride before doing feed/stable. Arrive to discover horses have already been given hay, so, no riding. Do feed & mucking out and come home to cold house. Not Amused, Cold, and Hungry.

Need quick food. So, decide in a radical step, to try a recipie found in fandom_wank comments . Make this -

Garlic Noodles [1]
200g dry Chinese noodles or spaghetti
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chopped green onions
2 tablespoons finely minced garlic (about 2 cloves)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1. Boil a large pot of water and cook the noodles according to package instructions.
2. Drain the noodles and wipe the pot clean. Place the noodles back in the pot and set aside. Get another pot or pan and switch the stove to medium-high heat and add the butter.
4. When the butter is sizzling and bubbling, add in the green onions and the garlic. Fry for 1 minute until very fragrant, but be careful not to let the garlic burn.
4. Add the brown sugar, soy sauce, and oyster sauce and stir well to mix. Add the noodles and toss well to get the sauce evenly distributed throughout the noodles. Serves 2.

Made it, in half the amounts (as was just for ME), with rice noodles and seasme oil instead of oyster sauce. Also a bit of sweet chilli sauce. Added a few chopped peppers too. And once it was done, some toasted pine nuts, because I like toasted pine nuts.

It was Very Very Tasty. Tho next time I'll put the 2 cloves of garlic in, because I like garlic.

Now am thawed out (am quite impressed by how much one gas ring burning heats up the kitchen) and pleasantly stuffed. May have cider next. Still pissed off at lack of heating tho.

[1] Yes, I had an ENTIRE meal with no potatoes in. Try not to faint.
