Feb. 2nd, 2009 02:37 pmHad a lovely time in Glasgow yesterday! Flight actually arrived early, so met up with
thipe at the hotel, then went bookshopping, for great justice (also, books).
Found the most excellent - and very useful - tome on Being a Lady, full of helpful instructions on how to flirt with a fan, how to 'avoid the parental consequences of the marital act', how to judge the quality and amount of a gentleman's Manhood by how he stands, and (very importantly!) how to avoid flying like a witch...
After book shopping was done and we discovered the Biggest Pound Shop Ever (we didn't go in, for fear we'd never get out alive), we returned to the hotel for cider and meeting up with
fragglechick. Hurrah!
From there we went for dinner, which involved Moar Cider, Kinder Eggs with really weird toys, readings from the Useful Book, political discussion on America, labour laws and The Welfare State. And moar cider.
After dinner, we retired to fragglechick's abode (stopping on the way to buy Yet More Cider), in the best taxi ride ever. There we met Dogboy, and the cats, listened to music, had More Discussion and ended the evening with Surprise Monty Python. Which somehow broke my resolve of Bed By 1 (cos we coudn't leave til it was over!).
Did get back to hotel at half 1 ish. Where I very sensibly did not partake of Moar Wine. Less sensibly, didn't actually to go sleep either, as there was Moar Talking to be done. Til about 4.
Which made getting up at 6 to get the train to get the plane to get home Somewhat Unpleasant. Managed tho. Walking to the station in the snow was nice, and the trip to the airport was very pretty. Got to airport, felt like walking dead, got on plane, slept for very brief flight.
Got off plane, wandered about carpark to find car. Found car. Realised I hadn't paid for the parking. Got out of car and went back to pay. Discovered walking in a straight line was really quite difficult. Paid, wandered about looking for car again. Sat in car going 'Oh noes I think I am going to die.'
Decided against going straight to work, due to feeling like Death. Went home to sleep instead. Slept til 1, got up, am now in work. Feeling *slightly* less like death.
Is it hometime yet?
Was all worth it tho ;) And there's plenty of time for sleeping tonight!
