Less flail more fun!
Oct. 6th, 2009 09:10 pmIt is about time for a post of not wailing or whining or flailing!
So, teh weekend! I got to go awaaaaay and see
reuss and Mr Reuss who might have an lj, but I can't remember ;p
Friday itself had some flail with work in the morning, then home to pack/feed cats then off to do horse all before getting to airport. Also found time to phone
thesme_01 for chat. Well, Rant really, but it was Good. Then discovered online checkin had closed (wtf?) so flailed my way off to the airport in a bit of a panic.
Thankfully all was well, got flight got to luton, met Reuss and we went VROOOOOOM VROOOOOOM around the place in her v. funky and VROOOOOMY car, in a quest for cider. This accomplised, we went back to Casa Reuss to drink and have an early night in order to get up early the next day for RELAXING SPA DAY OF JOY.
Saturday was... RELAXING SPA DAY OF JOY. So lovely. Pool, massage, more pool, steam room, tasty lunch, more pool etc. Ended the day with Make Up School, which was hugely fun and we learnt how to put on make up like grown ups and look PRETTY. So very pretty. So we finally left, very beautiful and somewhat slippery from all the massaging, and went for a pint in a nearby hostelry. Then back home for Chinese foods and fizzy wines and lovely lovely katy cider, all with silly tv and chatting. Good times. VERY good times ;)
Sunday dawned a bit later but with some pain. But, there was tea! which helped, and eventually shuffling off brunchwards for tasty reviving foods before heading into london to be Cultured and go see Modern Art. Also realising that where we were headed was but a few stops on the tube from Thipeington Manor, thus meaning we could meet up with
thipe along the way, to exchange books and discuss Art, etc.
Exhibition was very impressive! Loved some of the sculptures, was baffled by others. Then had lots of fun and got v. dizzy in the room of crazy slightly distorted mirrors. Head wrecking fun. Also felt
malvino should have been there. Stupid going to to China!
After art, it was obviously time for literature, so we retired to Waterstones and to much rejoining, found Sense and Sensibilty and Sea Monsters on 3 for 2! Hurrah! Fed Thipe's growing Heyer addiction with a few more books on loan too (ahahahah another convert!), then had tea and cakes.
But then, alas, it was time to bid farewell to young Thipe. So overcome was I by the emotion of this that, in the act of Hugging in the station, I managed to sort of punch a passing lady. A bit. Not in the face tho, thankfully! She looked rather horrified, but did not, thankfully, stab me. Tho rather oddly, SHE apologised as she fled from us. And I may have broken slightly.
Possibly punching a random passerby then doubling over crying with laughter about it is not the Traditional method of train station leave-taking, but it is certainly a memorable way to part ;p
Reuss and Mr Reuss then shuffled me onto a train before I could cause any more trouble and then all that was left to do was try to cram many new books into the bag before going to the airport. WOES. Managed Not to punch anyone there, but departed with dignity after a wonderfully relaxing and fun weekend than somehow left me completely shattered yesterday, hence not posting til today!
It was exactly what I needed tho after the flail of last week and feel much more able to cope with any further flail-inducing situations that may crop up this week. Hopefully...
