Dec. 28th, 2010 04:09 pmI have survived Xmas! Nothing went wrong! well apart from the mother having chest infection/flu, meaning I had to go down earlier than planned and thus more to and froing to feed cats/horses but otherwise all good!
On xmas day I even cooked VARIETIES of vegetables ! I made mashed spuds, roast spuds (hmmmm roasties NOMNOMNOM), roast parsnips/peppers in honey AND roast butternut squash, shallots and sweet potatoes. AFter all it is not a proper Irish xmas dinner if there are not 3 varieties of potato available!
The rest of the time was spent sleeping, drinking fizzy wine, and making endless cups of tea.
Got back home to COLD COLD house yesterday, but it evenutally warmed it, watched Pride and Prejudice (hmmm wet colin firth) and had a lovely long hot bath with new xmas bath stuff.
Today, liiiie in, lazy breakfast then up to attempt riding horse for the first time in over a month, as arena no longer looks like this...

It went better than expected too, horses were well behaved, and knackered after half an hour - which was good, cos so was I! and THAT was when we discovered the water was off (most of belfast is without water apparently) so we spent the next half an hour hauling buckets out of a well to fill big barrels for later...
Home for lunch now, then back up there to bring horses in, haul more water then collapse.
Work tomorrow = WOE, but on friday, heading to Teh LONDON to see Thipe! Hurrah!
