Happy New Year!

Oh dear. I did MEAN to go to work today. But still hadn't quite recovered from sitting up til 8.30am drinking new years eve/day (which was much fun). So planned to take morning off, catch up on some sleep, unload Much Stuff from the car then go to work at lunch time.

What actually happened - cats wake me up at HALF SEVEN whining. FOr an HOUR, until I give in and feed them. Then collapse on sofa like a zombie, before eventually summoning energy to get stuff from car. Decided about half 11 to go back to bed for an hour, then go to work.
Try waking up about 1, fail. Actually wake up at 3. Return to sofa. Ponder how to get Bags of Stuff (mostly clothes and books) upstairs, and where it's all going to go once it's up there.
Decided to do meme thing instead.

1.What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Went to Italy!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I did manage to keep a resolution given to me - No Cider on Fridays - for Months; voluntarily up until the end of May and then out of necessity for a few months after. Which may be the longest I've ever stuck to one ;)

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No one close this year

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yep, Uncle Billy.

5. What countries did you visit?
England, Italy and the Land of Horror.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
More energy. And walking. Some hot sex0rings would be nice too.

7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Febmeet, cos of meeting up and drinking and horror and so. much. cider.
1st of June, Ankle Break Day. Won't forget that one for a while ;p

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Hmm. Dunno if I actually achieved much this year. Not Stabbing Anyone.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Again. Not sure. There's lots of things I'd planned to do but didn't, but that wasn't so much failure as incapacity.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
ahahahah. Yes. A bit. Started the year off with 3 weeks of v. nasty flu and chest infection.
Then in June there was the small matter of breaking both bones in left leg. You may have heard me mention this once or twice.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Dunno. Ooh laptop probably.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Many many people. Everyone who helped keep me sane and not go mental with cabin fever, boredom, frustration and all that.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
The scary Italian hospital people. And politicians everywhere

14. Where did most of your money go?
Amazon! Oh, and buying a new car. That took quite a bit of it.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to febmeet. Going to Italy (hah). Going to see Mark Thomas.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Mika: Grace Kelly

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
about the same I think.

b) thinner or fatter?
NOt sure. Probably fatter due to months of inactivity.

c) richer or poorer?
Richer! Yay!

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Traveled. Walked. Ridden. Moving in general really.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Breaking bones. And complaining about breaking bones.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With family, eating drinking and sleeping.

21. What was your favorite month of 2007?
Hmm. March was good, but I think December has been best so far, with visiting people, going to pub, getting out and about more and Doing Things again.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
sadly no.

23. How many one-night stands?
None!

24. What was your favourite TV programme?
Heros probably. Tho also watched a LOT of 'To buy or not to buy' :p

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope, can't say that I do. Hate takes too much effort anyway.

26. What was the best book you read?
Tricky, cos I read quite a lot. "The Lies of Locke Lamora" would definitely be up there tho.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Didn't really have one.

28. What did you want and get?
A Jayne Hat!

29. What did you want and not get?
An instanta-heal leg. Hot sex0rings ;p

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Stardust! Not sure what others I actually saw, but it was great.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I had a wee daytime party with friends and family, with lots of crisps and sweets and fizzy pop. And then drank cider! I was 36. And still am.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Less breaking of bones.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
'It's clean' with a summer foray into 'it fits over the cast'

34. What kept you sane?
Internet access. And YOU.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Ewan McGregor. Have re-evolved a huge crush on him lately. Lovely Ewan.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Hmm. Local things really - shameful reactions of local politians to gay marriage and equal rights. And the ridiculous '50% remission' policy for prisoners here.

37. Who did you miss?
Many people I didn't (and don't) get to see nearly enough of.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Hmm. I didn't meet many New people as such this year. Some new people in work are great tho!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.
BE VERY VERY CAREFUL GETTING OUT OF PEOPLE CARRIER TAXI TYPE THINGS. And that nothing is quite as bad as you'd imagine it would be. And that you can cope with things you'd think would drive you mad if you have enough support from friends, family and LOONS.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
FA LALALA LA OM NOM NOM BRANES.

WOE with the cats. I sympathise. Way Back When Mum's cat Flo could stand up without falling over, she used to get very insistent about breakfast at weekends as well as working days. She used to try everything in this video up to but (thankfully) excluding the last bit. Sadly (for her), none of them worked if I was really tired! :P

you said I could book!

I hope you meant that.

Lovely Ewan.

it's the arms, isn't it? the rest of long way down was pretty dull (ok, the scenery was very impressive) but ewan's arms in those short-sleeved t-shirts kept me watching.

p.s. hate bokey feelings. HATE!

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2008-01-03 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
The arms, the manic grin... all of it really!

woe, that sounds very unpleasant indeed tho

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2008-01-03 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
Yes Book! sorry, couldn't remember how definite we'd been about it ;p

[identity profile] being-here.livejournal.com 2008-01-03 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
To be fair I think I was more definite than you ;p

I was probably bulying you into being organised as I am obsessive about things like this ;p
