Less of the whining...

Doctor's went quite well.
Went in, said OW, ANKLE, WRONG!
He checked notes and said "but the hospital said it was FINE and not painful", which rather surprised me since the last conversation I had with the consultant revolved around how it WAS still painful and the whole 'nerve damage' thing.

Then he checked ankle, which was helpfully all seized up. I tried to move it, no joy. HE tried to move it, still nothing. So he said "Hmm. No. That's not quite right." and is referring me to Musgrave for MOAR PHYSIO. Hurrah!

After that, I went and got on the horse. Walking walking fine. Decided to be Brave and attempt rising trot. This did not result in sudden PAIN so did some more. And a bit more. Aaaand a bit more. Then it did start being achy, so got off. Then it REALLY got sore.
But on the plus side, trotting (not necessarily correctly, weight in toes, not ankle, but still ;p), YAY!

Went home, took painkillers, went to Pilates, which was awkward cos ankle had now totally seized up again, so had to skip a few of the exercises. It did finally loosen up toward the end tho, which was a relief. Then home, mud, hot bath and bed before midnight - what a healthsome life!

This afternoon is the turn of the osteopath. Which is great because after yesterday, just about everything is on the stiff and achy side. Hmm back-cracking goodness.
Then home this evening for Family Fun Time and Cake, hurrah!

Ooh and Archaeology Conference Saturday (ie. huge piss-up sat. night) - are you or any of your minions attending [livejournal.com profile] _unhurt_?

Anyone got any wildly exciting plans for the weekend? Plans that do NOT including milking in any way, shape or form?

ETA Back from osteo! back all nicely cracked into place. Also, [livejournal.com profile] thesme_01 you will be very gratified to hear she basically said exactly what you did - that its' probably too early in the whole healing process to put ankle under the extra pressure of the heel lift, and it might be best to abandon it for a while.

Two of my friends are releasing albums! On CDs and that! So I will be going to the launch of these, both occuring tonight, which is a bit awkward.

Tomorrow I'm flying to the motherland! Drunkeness will ensue.

How does one become an archeologist? It sounds like fun. I was watching Indiana Jones films at the weekend and have decided I need a career change.

Do you have a hat and a whip?

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:35 am (UTC)(link)
In Ireland, basic requirements for archaeological adventuring are more along the lines of

rain coat
rain hat
rain trousers
mud removing tools

a bum crack

some mud

mud

em. ~Mud? Things?

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
my plans for the weekend

Cinema tonight to see In Bruges

Food. Korean food.

Tomorrow - trip to BRA SHOP with dress to find a BRA, then specsavers, then friend's 40th birthday party, then sneaking off early for to return to our sofa.

Em. Sunday. NOGHTING!

apart from ordering a specially-adapted milking machine of course

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, less of the hat and whip, a waterproof coat and a mattock are more what you'd need here ;p

I have all of these things. Apart from mud. But what do you do when you're attacked by pygmies with poisoned darts?

(Anonymous) 2008-04-18 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
A what-ock?

Does this protect you from the stuff that comes out of the Ark of the Covenant?

[identity profile] lazy-hoor.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
that was me (no, really).

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:45 am (UTC)(link)
ooh In Bruges looks good. Also bra shopping yay! good luck with that ;p

My plan for sunday is also much nothing. Much hungover nothing ;)

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:52 am (UTC)(link)
Mattock! Get a good enough swing with one of these and it'll wipe out a few nazis/pygmies :p

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:53 am (UTC)(link)
Swing yer mattock at them of course, slice their leetle pygmy heads off!

[identity profile] lazy-hoor.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:54 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, it might deter a pygmy but Nazis... I dunno. It doesn't have the range of a really big whip.

or the possibility that it will be used in a bedroom situation

[identity profile] lazy-hoor.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:56 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmmm. It's a dangerous business, this archeology lark.

I'm thinking of becoming a Ghostbuster now.

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
It won't stop you melting if you open Mysterious Boxes unrighteously though.

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
ahh see, if it's RANGE you're looking for, you need your long tailed shovel!

Image

Or you could Fling the mattock, but that can result in some Friendly Fire type incidents if you let go at the wrong point...

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm no. Would a hard hat work for that d'ye think?

[identity profile] lazy-hoor.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
You sound like you speak from experience?

[identity profile] adelpha.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I think she's already learned the lesson about opening unexpected Amazon boxes.

[identity profile] adelpha.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Hellison mentioned milking in a post somewhere and it opened up an entirely new vista of possibilities.

Milking porn soon....
