Rather than buy a plant, try your luck with seeds! This company sells quite reliable stuff, and because they don't bother about an illustrated catalogue, they can keep their prices really low. I used to get their paper catalogue (they stop sending it if you don't buy anything for three years running), and it was always a good read for a plant geek.
