I had a fantastic weekend over in Reading. I have some lovely, charming photos. AndI am very tired now. I was going to post some of the lovely photos, but because I am very tired now, i stuck the memory card in the wrong slot (hur hur hur, etc) and now it's stuck and I can't get it out. Bugger.
I might have tweezers somewhere, maybe that would work...
Anyway. Weekend, fab. Saw Neil Gaiman, who did a great reading and Q&A thing but opted for pints over waiting in the enormous queue for signing so no kidnapping.
Met
kimkali who is also fabulous and lovely.
Had refined train journeys with
malvino, also pints, Horror (of the film variety), french news and clamberings over a very badly placed sofa bed (seriously hotel. Placing the sofa bed so it precisely fills the space between the main bed and the bathroom is a Very Stupid Plan, 'k?).
And of course much horrormeet goodness, courtesy of Shambelina and Special Time, who very graciously hosted, didn't mind us showing up A Bit Late on friday (due to those pints) and were all round wonderful. The barbequeing in the driving rain saturday was highlight and I still can't stop singing 'I'm cooooooking in the raiiiin just coooooking in the raaaain'. The resulting food was v. tasty tho.
Also, possibly the worst horror film ever, Mr Pinchy and of course the best moment of all, Shamblina bursting into the living room declaring "Quick, fetch my camera. And some butter!".
If I hadn't stuck the bloody card in the wrong bloody slot you'd see why too :/
Now, I am off to hunt for tweezers, then go to bed.

the plan, she is working!

It had been three very long weeks. Three weeks the handsomely crumpled Gaiman had been imprisoned in her lair, three weeks she had worked to erode his defences. She had read him tracts on the benefits of plural marriage. She had drugged his tea. She had plied him with powerful ciders.
She had finally resorted to setting the DVD of Misery on repeat and leaving various hammer-type implements lying around and giving them Meaningful Looks.
And it had worked! He had agreed. Agreed to a kiss! A kiss with tongues, even! Oh glorious, blissful day! Hellison quivered as she closed her eyes and waited for his magical mouth to meld with hers.
And… there he was… warm breath against her lips, a curly lock of his lovely hair brushing her cheek, a slimy tentacle slipping into her mouth--
A hideous shriek rent the air!

She desperately tried to push the lurking tentacle lust to the back of her mind.....

"Hellison!" screeched David. "You WANTON HUSSY! I told you I would have the tentacule surgery if that was what it took! I am just returned from LA where I have found a doctor prepared to carry out the procedure. And now - now this betrayal!"
He began to weep.
