hellisonI had plans for today. Modest plans, but plans nonetheless. To have a lie-in, do some general tidying round the house, go riding.
So far, the day has not gone to plan. First, I wake up early (well, 9ish, but still early for a day off!), feeling BLEH. Take painkillers, return to bed for more of scheduled lie-in. Then there is knocking at the door. BAH I think, and ignore it. But something is pushed through the letter box, so I decide to investigate, grab the nearest pair of jeans form the floor (hence the need for tidying) and go down. Turns out it was the electricity man! So I call him back and he comes in, reads the meter and off he goes. It is only as he leaves that I realise I am not Attired for the situation as I should be. Am I wearing a lacy black creation? No. A fetching pair of silky pjs? No. Perhaps, at a stretch, some tshirt with appropriately trendy/geeky slogan. NO.
Instead, I have on... the snoopy nightie. SNOOPY
I think we can all safely say 'nawt' ;p
At this point I realise tea and toast are the only things that will save the day. but HORRORS, there is not only no milk, there is NO BUTTER. So i return to bed in disgust and phone![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
being_here to check on her literary progress. Eventually I summoned enough strength to rise, dress and brave the elements in search of provisions.
Since then, suitably fortified I have ... mostly been sat on the sofa watching Jane Eyre. Which isn't the worst way to spend the day ;p
With any luck the rain might actually stop soon.

ETA - IT STRIKES AGAIN. I did actually get dressed *properly* to go out earlier. But to take the photo, obivously, I changed back into the snoopy nightie, then came down to post, and watch the rest of Jane Eyre. A friend has just called to put stuff into my garage as they're having a bit of a clear out. Again, it was only halfway through this, while standing OUTSIDE in the driveway chatting that I realise I AM STILL WEARING IT.
Going to change now. And possibly burn this bloody thing.
