For an mp3 player to use in the car, the most important thing is that there's no faffing about while driving.
My car radio doesn't take external input, so I have one of those fm transmitter things. But I haven't found a spot on the dial that's free the whole way, so when coming from Dublin I'm listening to the radio part way, then trying to turn on the mp3 player and get it playing by touch when Phantom cuts out. If you end up in the same position, the last thing you'll want is a touch screen.
