So thro pottering around various links and stuff, I have found my new favourite bit of t'internet, and new favourite person too, Ian McKellen.
Just reading his replies to various emails sent him over the years has very happily passed much time - http://www.mckellen.com/epost/index.htm - everything from 'hey can you get me frodo's phone no' to queries on how he felt the anglo saxon mythologies that lotr were based on were portrayed thro the film answered with a lot of wit, charm and occasional polite 'wtf'ness.
And being really excited that New Zealand made him into a coin.
Also, he likes slash ;p

He gets to share the 'coolest guy on teh internet' hat with Neil Gaiman in my book now ;)
