Gnah. I got spannery things, loosened the nut jobbie on the boiler, airlock over, boilder starting up fine, was feeling quite pleased with myself UNTIL stupid nut thing fails to tighten again. Just goes round and round not gripping the threads and if I turn the boiler on, oil shoots out. This is not good.

Will probably have to call Boiler Man in after all, and god knows when he can make it. Stupid boiler. At least it's not snowing anymore.

ION news, escaped horror of teh Beach Club for the hen night and ended up in the club part of the Potthouse instead. Which was mostly just dull. Not a bad night tho and good to see teh Cousins again.

Also Corpse Bride is an excellent film!

BOILER UPDATE (because I know you want to know) Dessie, Ziggy's owner, is also a plumber type, so he came round, had a look and put grippy plumber's tape on the screw and now it works! Still leaks a bit so can't have it on for long, but at least the bedroom won't be ICY tonight.

Hurrah for Dessie!

Yes, am DIY queen. Apparently if the threads are gone it may mean a new pump and, since the boiler is Aged, parts could be tricky and so could well mean a new boiler. Yay.

oh dear! if it helps, the radiator i broke while bleeding it ages ago is unrepairable, and has in fact to be replaced. so, my cack-handedness is going to cost me £270. gaaaaah!

Ouch. Tho I have a feeling a new boiler might cost quite a bit more than that...

I had a brilliant time yesterday - I had Friend looking at me oddly because I drove to Belfast to go to the cinema but i bought Friend White Chocolate with Vanilla so that was ok AND I recovered my Lemony Snicket AND met the real life children what were in the photos that Hellison posted and they are even nicer irl - Aoife's front is even nicer than her back!

Off to watch bad telly and bed nighty night

Night out wasn't bad; went for Chinese first which was v. tasty (ate noodles and everything, your mother would have been so proud!) and sang along to their v. dire kareoke machine.
Then went to club which was full of Beautiful People Posing and really rather dull. Couldn't even get properly drunk cos it took so long to get anything from the bar!
And yep, stayed in Dunmurry last night, but had fire lit, electric heater & slept in spare room so it was all quite toasty really. Remember I'm better insulated than you ;p

Boiler man is going to have a look at it today, hopefully he can do something...
