Mission Christmas tree was a success! It wasn't easy, but finally I tracked one down. Now i just have to put it up and cover it in fluffy lights and tat ;)

Also saw the most amazing firey sunset while I was a-hunting, which reminded me that today is the shortest day.

So Happy Winter Solstice everyone, and here's to brighter times ahead!

Edit - Tree significantly larger than it appeared on box. This may take some time... Also, need more tat. And more lights!
AHA! Now have somewhat randomly decorated tree. None of this themed tree lark for me! Shove anything on that sparkles ;p

i don't even have a 'proper' tree (although all not real trees are CHEATING). i have a black pointy perspex tree-esque thing from habitat. i'm so modern!

and a Jayne icon, YAY!

had to have it - i think i like jayne best when it's obvious the situation is a bit more than his mental capacity is up to. the facial expression is wonderful - it screams "hello! i am suspiciously in DISGUISE here! i am looking SHIFTY"

on a non-christmas tree tangent, i'd love to read a story wherein due to Unforseen Circumstances (like, erm, i don't know, everyone else being unconscious) jayne has to come up with a Plan. a Plan more complex than 'shoot 'em! shoot 'em lots!'. because i do think there is great joy to be had from a thinking jayne fic. and imagine if his plan worked and he saved the day: mal would be annoyed forever, what with his plans tending towards the, um, not really panning out 90% of the time. and simon, heh heh, simon would be genuinely gobsmacked.

don't suppose you've come across such a tale?

Ours is a foot tall :)

People keep tripping over it. It is great.

We chez Dooblin 6 have a REAL REAL tree that is TALL because we had arranged to get a small one seeing as we live in a flat but my fella went to choose one and he went all big-eyed and bouncy and ended up buying this big huge thing. We decorated it with anything we could find including small cuddly toys chosen by his sister. The Christmas Fairy is a small cuddly chicken.

It has presents under it

we have fairy lights on the bookshelves and in the hall too! Woo!

as i have no real tree i have no fairy this year, but generally i use my cut-out postcard head & shoulders shot of darth vader. with a teeny tinsel halo. he is very cool.
