Morning all!

Back at work. And no longer with the 'sure it's nearly christmas' excuse, meaning I have to actually WORK. Tho mostly so far I've been trying to remember what the hell I was doing. Ah well, it'll come back to me I'm sure (probably when someone appears demanding something I should have done 2 weeks ago ;p).

Rounded off the holidays yesterday with a quick spin down to Dublin (well, Swords) to see the folk down there. Had a great gossip over tea with Ruth, then we packed the baba into the car and went to Trish's for dinner. Hmm, now she's nearly two, I'll should really stop referring to Coralie as the baba! She's getting very big and chatting away merrily - even picked up some Italian when they were over there for christmas.

Had a lovely evening and the new bit of motorway made the drive back that bit shorter, which was also lovely. Still wrecked today tho.
Right. Work. Woe :/

It's truly tragic, isn't it, and what makes it worse is I thought you had the day off today and you were in Dublin and I thought I'd skive off work and feck off for some fun.

But no.

BAD MOOD.

And strictly come dancing is over and there's nothing but bloody shite on the telly. Nothing to use as an excuse not to go swimming.

Just having finished Wuthering Heights hasn't helped, either.

Didn't get ANY books for crimbo so now I have Nothing to Read. Going to a bookshop at lunch - any recommendations?
Rar.

Dunno, I either got clothes (lovely ones), crockery (lovely ones), or makeup gift sets (like, great, NOT). For some reason the fact that our flat is stuffed to the gills with tomes didn't seem to inspire anyone.

PS I drove from Ramelton to Portstewart to Belfast to Dublin yesterday.

Nearly Died.

Good grief - was born in Swords. Haven't been back since 1984 though - I suspect one or two things may have changed since then!

The squillions of new exclusive townhouses and duplexosities along with the massive glass Fingal county council offices on the main street have taken their toll, alright, but it's still a nice town. In the middle.

Heh yeah, i'd say its very different! I have friends living in River Valley tho, which would have been there then. At least I think it would.

I remember going for walks on the farm land opposite the Broadmeadow estate, and saying hello to Mr Pylon and Mr Tractor! I was very small at the time.

Now you could say hallo to Mr Bovale Developments and Mr Huge Pavilions Shopping Centre and Mr Motorway!

Oh sadness!

Is the chemical plant still there? There were 13 sets of twins bron on our estate the year my sisters were born - and the plant was making fertillity drugs.

No connection there, I think ;)

God I don't know about the Chemical Plant, hellison knows the place better than me. Haven't noticed an inordinate amount of twins wandering around, though...
