WHY do I do this to myself?

Every time I come home. There it is, the sky digital. All those lovely channels showing all that lovely crap. Every time I say I will RESIST. I will BE STRONG. But every time, I see it there in the list and I think 'I'll just LOOK and see what they're doing. Just QUICKLY. It'll be OK.'

And then, the TRAGEDY and the Brave Family Bearing up and the bus and the megaphone and the HAPPY ENDING with the shrieking and the suprise and the joy and the tears and oh Extreme Makeover:Home Edition, why do you do this to me??

I even came in here to escape. And really, I'm only going back In There periodically because it's bloody freezing in here. Really. Not to see why the Family is Tragic (the parents DIED and the other family Took Them In and they have no room and and...) and the Personal Touches and the sobbing and the JOY and *sniffs* I'm going to bed now. I'm not crying. OH NO.

Stupid tv.

you told me about this 'extreme makeover: home edition". it's enough to put me off getting digital again in case i get sucked in. because, you know, i am very fond of colin & justin - and not just because they're bitchy scottish chaps. i have been known to sit entranced by, er, 'house doctor'. even though i hate her, and even though she paints everything cream and throws out all the books. (she would kill my house. my junk is very dear to me. and i fully intend to get deer heads with antlers from ebay and hand them on my living room, wall. oh yes, go taxidermy!)

er. sorry, got a bit OT there...

Naah. Go for Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen's or Linda Barker's head stuffed and mounted. Much more effective!

Heh I loves me some House Doctor. But I would chase her off with horse whips if she ever tried to get into my house, she'd have a field day ;p

Maybe we could have a support group!

Hi, my name is Ida and I BAWL in front of the TRAINWRECK that his Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on a regular basis.

(But seriously, the kid has a toy fish and they go all "Oh the poor dear little kiddo, she LOVES fishes more than life, let us COVER every surface in her room in FISHES!" WTF?)

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, I've always thought that the kids will LOVE the room for maybe a year but then the novelty will wear off and then they'll get older and just hate it :p

(glad it's not just me ;p)

We just got digital tv yesterday with all it's free channels. Like I need to know any more about the Nazis and their guns.

But you dooooo.

You need to know about it from several different programs, every day.

WW2 was the only period in history worth talking about or even being aware of, dontcherknow?

This whole digital thing sounds a bit evil to me, if it can reduce Teh [livejournal.com profile] hellison to a quivering wreck, I'm a definite goner. I wouldn't mind
Animal Planet
National Geographic
Discovery Health
tho....
