Oh those Wacky Students
Jan. 18th, 2006 11:10 amAnd the zany hamster-posting pranks they get up to...
http://education.guardian.co.uk/students/news/story/0,12891,1688415,00.html
Bizarre story. And possibly more disturbing because they're at Cambridge and, you'd *think* have at least some intellegence but with quotes like this, it appears not -
When asked why he gave a false name and address when purchasing the hamster, Jordan said: "Because I thought it would be a bit suspicious posting a hamster if I got caught."
Yes. Just a bit.
EDIT - according to the BBC they got fined and banned from owning animals for 10 years.
Personally I think this is going completely the wrong way. They should have been sent to work at a vets or animal shelter so they could see first hand what happens when people mistreat animals and hopefully learn a bit of empathy and feeling for something other than their over-priviledged selves.
Oh. And given a hefty kick up the arse too.

Date: 2006-01-18 03:15 am (UTC)There are plenty of people at Cambridge who are exam-passing machines, but who don't actually have any brains.

Yep, sounds premeditated to me.
Fuckwits. I just hope any future employers search for their names in Google and find these articles.
