hellisonAh Mondays. So far - forgot traintimes changed, missed train because it is now earlier while *next* train is now later, and thus too late to get me to work on time. Took car.
Got to work to find workmen dismantling metal bookshelves with hammers in Big Echoey Room. It actually used to be a warehouse so basically, it's a big high-ceilinged barn. It gets noisey, cold and very echoey. It's going to be a LOT of fun when there's 12 of us in here...
Anyway! The weekend was good - didn't make it to the pub Friday so settled for lovely bottle of Piper and the mud instead (because that didn't involve having to change, shower or, indeed, move :p), enlivened by a very surreal phone call from teh younger brother who rambled off on little tangents of his own for half an hour or so, before realising he'd talked to me "for far longer than he wanted to". At least I wasn't China this time.
Saturday was wonderfully lazy day, didnt even wake up til 1. The most strenuous thing I had do to all day was pick a dvd that would suit mother, brother, brother's gf and me - no easy task! Settled for the Motorcycle Diaries, which seemed to go down well around, despite the horror of subtitles.
Sunday, by contrast, was a very productive day! Got up early (well early for a Sunday), dropped the Mother off at Mass then picked up brother's GF to run her up to work, so The Precious could have a lie in and theoretically give Mum a hand with some stuff once he did get up. I have my doubts about this part tho.
Had horse all mucked out, turned out in field and feeds done by just after 1, did shopping, did washing and then Tidied.
In fact I not only Tidied, I Cleared Out all the crap from dresser in the living room AND the bureau thingy, organised drawers and now have a Special Space for letters to go (if I every get any more, see below re Post). THEN went to Macro and bought one of those file box thingys to put Stuff like bank statements, insurance docs etc in. Went back to yard, finished stable, brought horse in, then went home and Sorted Stuff into the file box thingy.
Am so organised, I have Impressed myself.
Rounded evening off with making dinner followed by much stabbing on teh mud.
ION Still. No. Post. How the hoards of impressionable teenagers will cope tomorrow without being able to compare who got the most cards I have no idea. I JUST WANT MY LETTERS. Also those little things, like the visa bill and so on...
The Paul Berry thing continues to cause hilarity, with peole now insisting that since DUP no.s are down, they would be entitled to less seats in the Assembly. If the Assembly was running of course. Or likely to run at anytime in the near future. Or... ah sod it, just sit back and enjoy the farce that is NI politics ;p
