My attention was drawn by the headline Badger Found Hanging By Teeth, which turns out to be a sorry tale with a happy ending for the badger in question at least. What intrigues me tho is this part...

Anyone found guilty of crimes against badgers can face a fine of thousands of pounds and a prison sentence.

Crimes against Badgers? That's a specific section of law, like crimes against the State??
Why badgers specifically? And how many crimes against Badgers are there? What are they?
I think we should be told!

Yeah, this was in last night's local paper. Fraserburgh is about 40/50 miles from here and is full of troglodytes.

Actually, when I read the headline, I thought they'd found some sort of calcified Badger of Stone :P
