[livejournal.com profile] thesme_01 has a bit of an excel disaster and needs help - c&p from her own journal, just in case anyone here has ideas

tech help???
umm I did this
1. found an error message on my computer
2. clicked ok - computer shut down
3. computer restarted
4. computer asked me did I want to restore an exel file
5. I said yes
6. I said save as
7. I chose the wrong filename to save it as
8. computer asked me was I sure I wanted to replace file a with file b I said yes. Like a fool.
9. now I have lost file a. File a = very important. File a now consists of File B

IS there anyway to undo the save, or restore the file before i did this silly thing? I've already tried system restore but it helpfully tells me it restores the computer settings withOUT affecting documents but I WANT it to affect documents PLEASE.

Or am I doomed?

beyond checking if its in a temp file somewhere, is there anything else she can do?
