A good day! (so far)
Apr. 12th, 2005 01:45 pmToday has, so far, been going well.
Got a good night's sleep and actually woke up *early* meaning that even lying in bed for half an hour after waking, I still got into work earlier than usual, causing much surprise and Humourous Commenting.
Two main things have conspired to make me Happy today -
1. got my ticket for Appassionata (http://www.greatesthorses.co.uk). Couldn't get a seat near the others due to laxness over getting round to getting ticket, but DID however get one in the 2nd row from the front! So close up views of all the pretty horses - Friesans, Andalucians and Lippizaners *drools*
2. Des (ziggy's owner) has FINALLY agreed not to take her off to an unspecified field somewhere at the end of April, but instead says I can keep her in til end of May and then she's just going out for 2 months at the stables, meaning I get to ride and keep up lessons for another month or so and she won't have months of doing nothing, resulting in her being hugely fat and totally out of condition leading to the mad Getting Her Fit To Hunt panic we had last year!
So yes, so far, a Good Day. Got a lesson tonight too, and after all the jumping lately I suspect we may be on flatwork, which will no doubt involve pain and suffering, but it's all good.
Got some no stirrups practice in last night - even went over trotting poles, which was Very Brave I felt - while Christine got her own back many times over for me yelling her over jumps last week by constantly checking my position, meaning I was riding round to a litany of 'legs back, heels down, toes in, hands up, stick down, shoulders back' repeated over and over :p
I think she enjoyed it far too much!
