I have had, I must say, a most excellent weekend! and there's even still a few hours of it left...

Yesterday, had a lazy morning, followed by a busier afternoon clearing/cleaning the living room, throwing out piles of crap and sorting out other stuff (this part still not finished). I even DUSTED. It was a lovely sunny day too, but mainly stayed inside due to Garderer George being outside cutting up bricks for the New Path (garden now covered in brick dust, but will look v. nice when done). In the evening, went to J from the stables house for a barbeque, which was v. lovely, especially as she very kindly made oven chips for me !

Then came home, drank some Katy, watched Dr Who - v. good, the Smilers in the boxes very scary things - then Total Wipeout, as this week Little Red (an archaeologist who used to work for [livejournal.com profile] _unhurt_ before she fled from us) was competing - _U_ if you have any access to iplayer, you HAVE TO WATCH THIS when you get back home. HAVE TO. So much hilarity ;p
And then to bed. But alas not so much to sleep as next door were partying a bit. Also texts from [livejournal.com profile] malvino at 2.30am. This would not have mattered so much if I wasn't on the rota for Morning Feeds at the stables...

Thus today started Far Too Bloody Early. Was supposed to be at yard 8/8.30ish for feeds, made it by 9, which wasn't so bad. Fed horses, put a couple in field, mucked out etc, then went off to see family. And have belated breakfast (nomnomnom). After sorting out shopping etc for the mother, got a call from teh sister to say they were off to the beach. Because it is somehow EIGHTEEN degrees here this weekend.
This would be surprising at anytime, but given that just over a week ago it snowed a LOT , it is quite remarkable, to say the least.

So, Beach! and very pretty it was too ;)

We even went paddling. Water VERY cold ;p

Finally came home to discover cats had shown their appreciation of my lovely tidy living room by killing a bird and covering the room in feathers. Which was nice. For the rest of the evening I have planned a bath to wash off the sand, wine and naff tv. Hurrah

Ooh. also! I got Dawn of the Dreadfuls (prequel to Pride and Prejudcie and Zombies). It is very silly and a good fun read - miles better than the bizarre drudgery that was Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters.

And that's about it ;)
