(no subject)

So. Weekend plan WAS friday work/horse/packing/sleep followed by Sat -off to Reading to see Shambellina, special_time, being_here, thipe and others.

Alas, this very fine plan was utterly THWARTED by the fecking volcano ash cloud. Instead weekend went -

Friday Work/check airports/work/check airports/check ferries/check alternate flights/home/check airports, flight not yet cancelled/horse/check airports -flight now cancelled/tescos/katy NOM NOM NOM KATY then bed sometime around 4

Today - lie-in! check airports just to see, all flights now cancelled til god knows when; chat to various people via phone/text/msn, switch hotel booking to thipe's name, decide to tackle GARDEN.
Reclaim herb garden from grass/weeds/rubbish. Discover only a couple of things have survived winter. and weeds. Go to garden centre and buy MOAR PLANTS - more herbs, some seeds and flowers for new flower bed at the front. YAY! Plant plants.
Also in the middle of this got a call from friends who saw abandoned Reading plan moaning on facebook with offer of ticket to see various local bands playing tonight, which was nice! So will shortly head off to check on horse, come home, shower and go to pub.

So weekend not a total disaster and I certainly haven't been the worst affected (I think _unhurt_ is winning that one) but still, fecking volcano!
