Oops, over a week between entries? What has happened to the world, that such a thing could come to pass?
Well. Work mainly - actually having to do some for a change. Evenings fell victim partly to the weather and general sloth.
Also for the last couple of nights I've been riding a friend's horse for her while she's away. After 3 months of no riding at all, suddenly going back to Proper Riding (rather than the usual couple of lazy weeks with Ziggy while we both gradually get back into shape), has caused some degree of Pain.
A rather significant degree in fact, particularly with the thighs.
Also trying to get ON the bloody thing is a challenge in itself - 17hh is a long way up at any time, but so much more so when you're stiff and out of practice. Horse himself is lovely to ride, tho after a fairly intense work out last night (for me that is. Ouch), I suspect tonight it will either be a very gentle hack or possibly just a walk on the lead rope.
Plans for the weekend mostly involve soaking in radox and some lazing about the garden. Thanks to the window cleaner/odd-job man I can now do this with no trace of guilt, as he not only mowed the lawn but attacked the Hedge O' Dooom and forced it into something less likely to swallow people whole. Alas he is a rather short man and it is a high hedge, so the top of it has been left sort of hacked, lumpy and ... well, not very protestant looking at all.
May have to summon the Logue to work his presbyterian way on it and get it properly squared off. OTOH I do live in W. Belfast now, so perhaps the messy fenian hedge should be allowed to stay.

Date: 2006-07-28 03:58 pm (UTC)am now imaging the logue arriving in a darth-vader style robe and gesturing at the hedge, whereupon the offending sections of growth wither and die under the force of his Presbyterian Mind Whammy.

Date: 2006-07-28 04:16 pm (UTC)And oddly, that's very similar to the image I get of Logue V. Hedge, tho with out the robe, and withering it with the Awesome Power of his Disapproval.
Enjoy your weekend away AGAIN bitch.
