Oh Canada!
Oct. 4th, 2006 10:55 amNow the jetlag has passed and I have the day off to get a new boiler in except the boiler man can't come, here is the proper What I Did on My Holidays post.
The short version is - not very much at all really ;) The main point was to go see the family, hang out with the boys and get to know the new baby. The most I did in the way of touristy stuff was a quick train ride to Niagara for the morning. Other than that, time was spent reading, sleeping and best of all, lounging in the hot tub with cold cider.
Lovely. Saw no mounties and, even more disappointingly, didn't manage to hook up with
kearsley this time either :/ or, indeed,
malvino.
Must Try Harder.
Anyway, some pic spam! Full set of pics is here
Emma and baby Rafe, only 4 months old, but a bit of a bruiser already!

Leo and Ollie

Anthony and Emma

Where quite a lot of the holiday was spent!
Friday night we had a Girl's Night, with friends of Emmas, in the tub ;)

Hmm, smokin'

Of course it was nice in the daytime too ;) Tho, taking pictures of yourself in a hot tub is harder than you'd think. At least, pictures you'd actually want to show people :p

Bubbles!

Sunday morning I got teh train to Niagara, and did the Maid of the Mist boat trip, which is an excellent - if damp - way to see the falls. Sadly I didn't have time to properly explore the Tack Fest that surrounds the falls, but next time, I fully intend to ;p
The American Falls, from above

Horseshoe falls from afar

American falls from the boat

Tiny People, Big Water

Very Big Water

Me! Damp ;p

Tacky Niagara!

I was so sad I didn't have time to go in here. I am fascinated that they need an entire EMPORIUM for wax hands.

I have no idea why he is called Rafe, but it's too late to worry about it now! Mostly he gets Rafie. Or pudding, because he looks like a little round pud ;p
