The Return of Treat Night

Haven't done this one in a while have we?

So many crappy days of crapness seem to be being had today (hmm convuluted grammar). Thus Treat Night. Also, it's my only non-horse night this week. And possibly for the foreseeable future.

Have v. early start tomorrow, to be at airport for 6am to pick up teh Mother, so no alcohol (alas).
Instead -
Mudding, chocolate, long hot bath with book, letter writing, bed. Hopefully Early. With No Weevils.

Synchro-dancing anyone? We never did do that.

Synchronised dancing can be done anywhere, to any (or no) music. S'long as we all do it at the same time. :)

The McCorley twins and seven other of their tribe lined up at the foot of hellison's bed. Hugh tapped the bedframe with a small, flexble baton to gather everyone's attention. From her lounging position across the bed, facing the line of weevils and Hugh, her shoulders and head pillowed in Callum's lap, his hands firmly holding her down and forcing her to watch, hellison writhed in horror. She tried to close her eyes, but Paul leaned gently over from his seat at the head of the bed next to Callum and politely pried her eyes open, giving her a reassuring smile and a thumbs up.

"Now, now, luvey," cooed Callum. "There are no victims here. You knew what you were getting into when you friended the weevil lot. After all, weevil is as weevil does."

Hugh cleared his throat monstrously. "Ready?" he purred. The weevils all wiggled their snouts in agreement. Paul straightened and leaned forward in attentive anticipation. Callum steeled his grip on hellison, snuggling her back more firmly into his lap as he settled in for the show. Hugh cleared his throat once more before beginning to hum a familiar tune, and in perfect time, the line of McCorley weevils launched into the synchronized steps of Riverdance. Hellison wept.

Halfway through the dance, hellison realized with dawning horror that she was tapping her feet in time to Hugh's humming, giving the Riverdancing weevils an extra little hump-step on the upbeats as her feet twitched slightly arhythmically beneath the bedspread.

Suddenly the door burst open like a ripe quamquat and being_there flounced into hellison's bedchamber, kickstepping wildly, her face replete with glee, jealousy, outrage, hurt, dismay, joy, confusion, relief, happiness, energy, satisfaction, and something that might have been mild constipation. "How could you, oh Weevil King!! How could you start the Riverdance without me??!!" Being-there leapt lightly like a primadonna fruitfly onto the left side footboard post, and Paul cheered wildly whilst Callum whistled in glee and hellison gnashed her teeth as being_there Riverdanced alongside the McCorley weevils.

synchro dancing was great - i was on the phone to littlebluefish too, so i just turned them music so she could dance too! I think she got looks from the people in traffic around her tho ;p

i'll ask c_regalis for the links to GIMP again if you like? it's a freeware thing that does loads of the stuff photoshop does and is pretty damn good. it's a linux programme, though, so i need to get the right links because you also have to download another programme that unpacks it and installs it in a windows-friendly manner. i have done this, and it was pretty simple and also worked, but i'm buggered if i can remember the right links (tried to dl and install at work recently but couldn't find the site i used before).

Depends upon how you define 'ok'. If you mean ok as 'a sane and reasonable thing to do' or 'something that will not have a deleterious effect on your mental and emotional well-being', then no, not so much ok. But if by 'ok' you mean 'welcome to the monkey house' or 'hello, one deluxe ticket on the short bus to special hell please!', then yes, it is very much of the ok. :)
