Happyhappy Joyjoy!

Morning all! How are we today?

I am mostly good because, after being off yesterday, my brain is convinced it is Monday, then I remember it is Thursday and go YAY HAPPYHAPPY JOY JOY. This has been happening all morning. I am too easily pleased sometimes ;p

Also, now I have a shiny New Boiler that is not so old and rattly that it wakes me up in the mornings when it comes on, nor do I have to turn the tv up to hear over it any more. More importantly, I have a swanky new digital timer IN THE HOUSE. Oh yes. No more having to get dressed to go out and turn the heating on for me (or rather, pulling nearest coat and footwear on over pjs)!
To add still further to my joy, the nice Boiler Man even fixed the kitchen sink - which I thought would only take 5 minutes when I asked him, but actually took nearly half an hour with much fiddling and Trips to the Van for Bits, which I felt a bit bad about. Especially when he didn't charge me any extra, tho given he got 800 quid out of me anyway, I think he did all right.

Spent the day between chatting online and clearing away the last remnants of the party - including gathering up the Abandoned Bits of Costumes - 2 blonde wigs, a cloak, a purple stetson, false eyelashes and nails and a belt, to mention but a few.

But in summary, YAY thursday! YAY boiler! YAY sink! EW false eyelashes!

Ah, the joys of house pwning. We expect a man who shall Dig on Sunday. The English concept of outside water pipes is So Not Working for us...

Isn't it great? What I love most is how doing one thing inevitably leads to having to do other things - eg Boiler Man's parting words were 'and give me a call in the summer about a new oil tank'.
Also sink repair is tempory (as it is OLD) so he said I really need a new sink, which would mean new work tops which would probably end up New Kitchen *eyes bank balance*

wait - is this the sink that was broken in MARCH?

ew!

*shuffles feet*

It might have been. Maybe. There are ways round these things you know!

I didn't mention them cos they arrived mid-to and froing with mum from current house to new house to k's house, back to current house, torchwood(HMMM RESUSCITATE ME CAP'N) and packing. So i was a bit distracted and thb had no idea what you were on about.

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-11-09 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
will someone PLEASE tell me about the resuscitation!!!

Ooh how is your mum getting on with the movaging?

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-11-09 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Well it was pretty much your standard mouth-to-mouth. Only perhaps with more tongues (I was also packing at the time so couldn't examine overly closely).

Movaging is getting there - New house is very nearly all decorated - new floors all down, all rooms painted, new fireplace in. Just waiting now for the new kitchen to be fitted and kitchen to be painted then it's all set - so probably next weekend or so.

And she's ok with things?

also phoarr.

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-11-09 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
She *seems* ok - certainly having fun spending lots buying New Things - but then she'd never actually say if she wasn't anyway, so it's hard to know.

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2006-11-09 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. I see where you're coming from. I'm fine. fine. fine.

I'm tired today, but that is my own fault for going to bed too late last night. Yay boiler! We have district heating, which is lovely (instant hot water!) but also means that even though it is November I still have the doors/windows open all day because this block is so hot. I actually have no idea how to turn our own heating on, should probably find out before it gets colder.

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2006-11-09 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It has stayed very warm this year (jsut as well with the price of oil!) - I haven't even had to turn the heating on in the mornings yet, which is good ;)
