So, yet another weekend of relaxing and... not much else ;)
Friday was horse after work, followed by bottle of fizz and mud rather than pub as originally planned because - well by the time I got home, ate & sat down, I couldn't be bothered getting up again, never mind getting washed, changed and all that.
Saturday, vaguely hungover, spent the morning pottering about tidying up, then went off to do round of the family, ending up in the brother's flat watching the eclipse. Well, watching Shameless and running out occasionally to check the eclipse cos it was bloody cold out there.
It was a beautifully clear night though, which made it impressive to watch - and the accompanying rambling drink/smoke fuelled version of Why Eclipses Are So Amazing from the brother was highly entertaining.
Today, more doing very little, slowly. Eventually braved elements to go do Ziggy only to find that not only has the rain stopped, but D. did everything when he went up to turn her out this morning, so I went off to Tescos instead to buy healthy foods and have Nice Lunch. Just have to go up in a bit and bring her back in.
Also took photos of Lovely New Garden bit, previously the Plot of Shame. Unfortunately I forgot to take a proper 'before' picture, but have a couple that gives an idea...
Before - dead heather, trees that were far too big (the one on the right I got removed a year or so ago because it got so big I couldn't get past it to get to the oil tank), crappy stones and mostly weeds. And occasional Chylde infestation.

Now!
Trellises, climbers, Nice Plants and no dead heather. And a dwarf willow instead of the yew trees - I was going to keep the 2nd one, since it was healthy and not causing any problems, but in the end it was just too big, only going to get bigger and mostly just in the way.

I did consider whitewashing the wall first, but figured that once the climbers all take off, it'll be mostly covered anyway, so didn't bother.
Rest of the evening, since cinema seems to be off, will consist of bringing horse in, hot shower, making Nice Dinner and... lazing about. Perfect Sunday stuff ;)

i still cannot get over the part where you have a gardener.

I don't *haev* a gardener as such, he just shows up periodically and offers to do various things in exchange for large sums of money. And he always seems to time it so that I'm hungover and just go 'Yes, whatever, do that, i'm going back in to die soem more now'.

So the lovely Gardner George came and made it all lovely for me ;) I can't wait til the climbers start to grow and flowers come out, it will be very pretty!
Now I just have to keep it this way and work out what I'm going to do with the rest of the garden this year.
