Busybusybusy. Well. Stuck in meetings all bloody day, thus giving the appearance of being busy while not able to get at teh intarnets. Woe.
However, on the plus side, Crazy Boss Lady has finally been convinced of something I've been trying to tell her for 7 years now (because the Public Records AND National Archive experts said it too ;p), The People Upstairs think I am a tech genius cos I showed them how set up a new dataset on the mapping software and I have been reminded that I have not yet taken my yearly dividend from the company (well there have to be SOME perks), so it's Go Go New Bathroom Time. Hurrah!
Must phone Plumber.

Later on, I will mostly be researching how to construct and install a gibbet, especially for [livejournal.com profile] thesme_01.

And finally, a couple of days late, answers to questions from [livejournal.com profile] fragglechick

1) Could you ever picture yourself living abroad? If so, where?
Hmm. If there was incentive to go? Yes. Otherwise I'll probably stay put. I like my house and having family and friends all within easy distance. Not to mention teh horse and cats (stupid practicialities).
If I could just up and go tho? Hmm. Sydney would be lovely, with the added advantage of knowing people and, more locally, I've always had a liking for the Cornish coast, tho i've never been - too much reading of Arthurian legends when wee (and not so wee) perhaps.
Anywhere coastal though. I really do want to live beside the sea when I grow up.

2) Did you have a horse/pony when you were all wee?
NO! And it was all I ever wanted - every birthday and Christmas (well, that and books. And jigsaws.)!
But, since I would have had absolutely no idea what to do with one if I got it, it was probably quite sensible of the parents to get me bikes and books and jigsaws and send me for riding lessons instead.

3) What was your first impression of moi?
Hmm, on t'internet, that you were funny and twisted and very good at expressing yourself and your feelings, which always impresses me because I am so very very bad at it!
In person
a. lovely hair!
b. that's a very scottish accent for someone with SUCH an irish name *ducks*
c. OMG STOP DOING THAT RUBBING THING

4) What world/society-type 'issues' most concern you?
Mostly bigotry - probably since that's the one that has had the biggest impact on daily life, not just sectarianism, but bigotry of any kind, racism, sexism, anti-gay, anything that smacks of 'different is WRONG' really bothers me.
Inequality too.
Basically the sentiment that "X person is worth less than Y because of Z" and the mistreatment/abuse that can follow on from that and results in many of the issues in society today.

5) What has been your oddest dream so far?
I don't remember dreams so much, especially the odd ones. Have a few recurring ones - I used to regularly have one about dragons! And the old wandering about suddenly realising i'm naked chestnut - and an interesting variation on that where I suddenly have no shoes.
The one I remember clearest lately was where I had a lovely new boyfriend and we were going to Paris, but the tickets were booked by a co-worker, N.
We were all at a party the night before going, but N kept forgetting to give me the tickets or tell me what times the flights were and I spent a lot of it very frustrated either trying to find him (he has a tendancy to wander off from parties IRL too ;p) or shouting JUST TELL ME THE FLIGHT TIMES at him, while trying to pack and worrying about how many pairs of shoes to take ;p
No idea what to make of that one!
