Meh.
Went to hospital, got cast off - yay! Got xrayed - xray man says it all looks good, more yay!
Wait to see doctor. Wait some more. Then some more. Finally see doctor. He says "yes, looks good, so now you just have to wait six weeks for the 2nd op".
And what, I ask, do I do for these 6 weeks? Any physio, any walking?
No. Nothing. Because until they take the stablising pins out, my ankle won't actually move much. Or do anything. So, 6 more weeks of hopping and no weight bearing unless i absolutely HAVE to.
On the plus side, I have an AIR CAST, which looks like a moon boot and has its own little pump to inflate bits once it's on. And it is removable, so no more trying to sleep in a cast at least! But... meh. How work will take this I'm not sure. I'll be off at least a couple more weeks, then I might try going in a couple of days a week, if i can sort out lifts, to see how it goes. Who knows?
At least I am in my own house, for this week at least! And being_here & walklikeacat arrive v. v. soon, so it could be much worse.
And the air cast is a bit mad looking ;p
