back to whinging....

Well. More of a rant really.

When I got the cast off 4 weeks ago they said I'd have the 2nd op in about 6 weeks and I'd get a date for it within a week or so. As I'd still heard nothing, on saturday I rang the fracture clinic.
They say 'ring the secretary on monday'.

So, I do. After several tries someone answers.
She says 'oh we don't organise that, phone the clinic'. I tell her they told me to phone her. She says 'oh no, clinic.'
I phone the clinic.
They say (wait for it!) 'phone the secretary'. I say I did, she said phone you. They say 'oh no, phone her'. Then helpfully check to see if a date has been booked. Nothing has.
Phone secretary again. Several times. Finally she answers. And admits she isn't the secretary, the secretary is off sick and basically, she hasn't a clue what she's talking about.

So I get to do it all again tomorrow. Yay.

ETA phoned again. Apparently am booked for something, possibly in a different hospital, no-one could find out when, and the only person who might know is off on leave for a week. So that's nice.

Yet again I gasp in awestruck amazement at the quiet 'seamless' efficiency of the NHS.

Yes. My favourite bit was when she said 'oh look, this was arranged on the 30th of July' and yet i still have heard NOTHING from them....
