Milestones!

Today, I WALKED to the shop from the office to buy lunch, for the first time (mainly because there were no minions around to send, but also to see if I could), successfully negotiating slippery cobbles, kerbs, traffic and parked lorries to do so! Yay!

Also this week I have

Gone shoe shopping in an actual shop
Worn shoes
Worked full days in the office
Walked, not hopped, up AND down steps (and one small flight of stairs, thanks to the Fairways Hotel's cunning policy of locating the only lift at the bottom of them).
Driven for over an hour - and had the car out on the motorway for the first time too, VROOOM!
Gone straight to work after a night away, after a drive of 60 miles to do so
Gone to work with a hangover!

It's just like old times ;p

And this evening I am going to the pub after work! Hurrah!


Last night I had a very lovely and refined evening with thesme_01, in the aforementioned Fairways Hotel, with polite dinner conversation including comparing terminal diseases of various relatives, surgery and general and hotels that turn out to be brothels.
Afterwards, we adjourned to Thesme's room to sip fine champagne, discuss the trials of day to day activies when one is incapacitated, fine music, communicating via morse code and were only derailed from all of this by a phone call from being_here which broke Thesme so badly she did the Cringing Dance of Horror around the room.

Thesme also very kindly assisted in my rehabilitation by providing a bear from the hotel-that-turned-out-to-be-a-brothel for rubbing purposes...

And then we went to bed to sleep the sleep of the just and pure.
How they slept, I have no idea.

curse you! i need to do stuff tomorow and am still recovering from The Germs, and thus am avoiding the pub as otherwise i will be ded in the morning. but you are Tempting me!

(last saturday me, small s and 2.5 bottles of wine shared between us? gave me a TWO DAY hangover. so. apparently i cannot 'do' wine these days. hrmph!)
