Nov. 26th, 2007 12:23 pmI got a new phone! Nokia 6300 , looks good, is easy to use and has no slidy bits or fiddly bits or anything. YAY!
Also booked tickets, flights etc to go see Mark Thomas in London with
thipe &
malvino, thus giving me a great incentive to get good at this whole walking lark again so I can actually get there. Tho I suspect the most difficult part may actually be the endless trek through Heathrow to get to the bus station. I shall manage tho!
Of course the point of doing most of this this weekend has been to distract from the fact that it is the 5th anniversary of my father's death today
It's not been so bad this year actually. In some way, it is good to have a time to remember, but I would much rather pick a day with good memories associated to remember - like his birthday, than one with nothing but bad associated. Why we have to pick the deathday to Gather And Remember I don't know. It's good for Mum to have the support around, but if there wasn't such a big deal made of the whole bloody anniversary thing in the first place, it could be passed over and just be another day. If every other member of the family would stop fucking ringing up to REMIND us it might help.
Yay for the institutionalised misery of Catholicism (is it just a catholic thing? I have no idea, maybe everyone gets to try and make themselves miserable for no good reason.).
Meh, rant over, for this year (or until cemetary sunday, that other day of EVERYONE IS DEAD happy funtime).
ION am actually trying to work and being THWARTED because the spreadsheet i emailed home to work on is too big for stupid fucking MSworks to open and google spreadsheets/documents refuse to open the fucking thing either. This, combined with a persistent headache, may be a sign that I should just give up and watch daytime tv instead...

Mark Thomas and booze are the perfect way to get rid of thoughts like this.

Date: 2007-11-26 02:27 pm (UTC)It's good with Excel spreadsheets so long as they aren't dependent on VBA macros and that sort of cleverness. It's a fairly chunky download (120+ megs) if you don't already have it, however.
