Stardust, etc

Good things last night - Went to see Stardust with E. from work and loved it. Have to reread the book to see where they changed things, but overall I think they kept the *feel* of the book very well and the changes (that I remembered from last time i read it) all seemed to work well. AND it gave Very Proper Treatment (so as not to spoil anyone) to Ricky Gervaise.

Has anyone seen Beowulf btw? I've heard mixed reviews, tho I'd still like to see it.

Not so good - the fucking filling i got put in YESTERDAY fucking fell out again just before the film started. Which means going back to the dentist again, but probably not til after Christmas now. WOE and WAILY.

Today I have manage to sleep in (despite being wide awake between 6 & half 7) and then go do some christmas shopping! I have STARTED! And almost finished too, cos I'm not doing a lot this year ;p

Now, I should probably do some work.

It's only on tonight and tomorrow here and then goes - thus the rush

*sighs*

it's still on in one here - at 4pm! Which isn't much use really. And if it's reduced to that, this may well be the last week here too

What did you think of Robert De Niro?

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Certainly not his best role, but he did make me laugh!

[identity profile] lazy-hoor.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I liked when he danced, and the bit at the end when he was giving yer man the eye, but his comic timing was off.

I was NOT! I was innocently shopping in Castle Court!

Ps ooh yes! lets! We should try and sort a visit in one direction or the other at some point over christmas. For cinema and wine and exchanges of presents. and Fine Art.

I want to see this - it's in 3D in Dundrum.

[identity profile] thesme-01.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
oooh really? When tho? Is saturday too soon? *ponders*

[identity profile] lazy-hoor.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, let's!

[identity profile] gnillot.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw beowulf just after it was released and was actually disappointed. Although I can't explain _why_ I was disappointed, I just was

Oh, and you might want to consider seeing the 3D version if you can. There was a lot of things in the "normal film" that you could see would be a lot better if you saw the 3D version.

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I was hoping they'd have it on at the IMAX here, but it's closed down apparently! Woe. Not sure anywhere else would do it in 3d.
