Monday ramblings

Bleh. Rainy rainy grey monday. Tho the sound of the rain on the roof here is quite soothing.

Had a lovely, relaxing and mostly hermit-like weekend.

Friday, came home, had popcorn and fizzy wine while crying at Coronation St. Even tho I am not a soap fan ;p Still, it was well done. Then watched... other stuff, can't even remember what, til bedtime.

Saturday was a totally hermit day. Long lie in, followed by much lying on sofa reading. Didn't even bother mudding really, just... lolled. Only ventured out to go to tescos for bread and cat food. Tried out lovely new cat boots tho, which are good - aren't taking as much breaking in as I'd feared and are helping the whole walking crutchless thing loads. Then more sofa, reading and tv. Including TWO episodes of Deadliest Catch. I fear greatly that I may be getting sucked in *worries*.

Sunday was more sociable, with family stuff and actual House Leaving. Which was good. Also discovered I can now pick up my niece and carry her again, which pleased the little princess no end. Then rounded off watching Aliens V. Predator, which I enjoyed greatly. BOOOOM! Tempted to go see the new one now in the cinema when it comes out ;)

One quick question tho for the more Fitness Enabled types among you. The... bugger EIGHT months now of Just Sitting has left me totally unfit, and since my usual forms of exercise - walking, riding, swimming - are still pretty much out, I have no idea what to do to to start getting fit again. Even going up and down stairs doesn't help cos I go so slowly it doesn't really take any effort.
There must be something I can do at home tho. Still considering getting an exercise bike just to get started, and build up the sadly absent leg muscles.
Any other suggestions?

ETA on a positive note, just walked the whole way to shop for lunch AND back without using the crutch! Even got up and down kerbs! Go me!

Stupid leg. Tho, thinking about it, I could probably wear croc to & from pool edge, so I just have to figure out how to get in and out. Maybe in a couple of weeks when I'm better at steps!

That link is a handy one tho, will peruse and see if i can get myself off the sofa at home and actually Do something

You can get special socks with non-stick soles. I got them for aquarobics but never wore them, but yeah, the steps would still be an issue.

But hey! Last time I was in Italy I was in a swimming pool and saw an old man with a false leg in the pool! I can't remember how he got in and out though, I was mesmerised by his leg cos it was all floaty n shit.

I shall look out for those, they sound handy. I wonder if that leisure centre does aquarobics, i did that years ago and loved it, so much more fun that normal horrible sweaty aerobics ;p

False legs are dead handy, yeah!

Yeah, aquarobics is better than the sweaty stuff alright.
