On Friday,
adelpha and
kelemvor came to visit for the weekend, and Eurovision, and general fun. Hurrah!
We decided to do the important stuff - food and drink shopping first, to get that out of the way. First macro, then local tesco then, since we were going to the cinema, to the Big Tesco to get Lovely Katy. It was all going very well, until we got the shopping back to the car and Adelpha went to return the trolley. Then a Puma leapt from NOWHERE, knocking him down and causing what initially seemed to be grazed hands and knees and a achy arm.
So, we went to the cinema & saw Indianna Jones. No spoilers here yet, but v. silly, v. funny in places and I loved it. End was a bit W.T.F??? and some parts REALLY made no sense, but then, when did they ever? Great fun film.
Alas, by the time the film finished, Adelpha's arm had seized up. So, as there's a casualty 5 mins from the cinema, we popped in and emerged an hour later with a Cracked Radius, arm-in-cast and sling. DAMN YOU PUMAS!!!1!11!!!
Went home, had drinks - or in Adelpha's case, painkillers - and watched 3rd Pirates of the Caribbean. Again, very silly, lots of fun and really didn't make much sense. Did love Johnny Depp again tho. All of them :p
Sat, started off with shopping for shoes with no laces, then went on a Pleasant Drive to Greyabbey, looked at plants and ruins, then had lunch. And somehow FREE BUNS. Win!
On the way home, stopped at a garden centre and bought loads of plants which
kelemvor very helpfully offered to plant for me. Yet more win!
Then Eurovision. Less win ;p Tho, loved Bosnia, and Azerbaijan. V. saddened by lack of Dustin tho, and slightly baffled as to why UK did *so* badly - it wasn't a great song, but not awful either, maybe it just didn't stand out enough either way...
Rounded the evening off with Pimms and much giggling at youtube.
Today, planting plants! Have renewed herb patch and lovely flowers and hopefully it will all survived and be very pretty! It was a lovely sunny day too, so good to be out in the sun playing with mud. So good we lost track of time and had to rush slightly to get to the airport in time. But, made it.
All in all, if it hadn't been for the puma and bone breakage, it would have been a fantastic weekend. The rest was all still very good tho, and it was lovely to have you both back again - I'm really looking forward to seeing how the plants turn out. Plus, i have a house full of party treat food and alcohol! More win!
Given the recent track record tho (a cracked head last time, cracked arm this time) I may not invite anyone over again for a while, I'm not sure it's safe...
Except Malvino, even pumas don't get you an excuse ;p

Date: 2008-05-28 08:36 am (UTC)Especially not seeing as on sunday he did the same thing again, but in the kitchen, where all was safe, so no injuries!
He also only drank 7 or 8 drinks ... twas strange.
I felt fine, depite choosing Azerbaijan for the points game along with germany and thus dowing far too many shots of raspberry bacardi, vodka, and Freddie Fuckers or whatever they were called :P

Date: 2008-06-01 09:26 pm (UTC)The free buns were in Hoops coffee place in Greyabbey village, which had v. nice food and Tray Bakes. Tho, they weren't meant to be free, the waiting staff were just a bit disorganised I think
