as ever, mostly so I don't forget, ignore at will

I have been a Good Girl and diligently done my exercises, and it does seem to have helped; lots of moving keeps the stiffness at bay and does (eventually) help it wear off once it has set in.

Started off with much bending and stretching of foot, at the end of which, it was moving better than it's done in... about a year? Ages anyway ;p

Then there was torture by wobble board, in which we learnt my balance is still shot and backward/forward movement of ankle is crap (to use a technical term). Followed by standing on bad leg while wiggling a football round with good one. This may *sound* like fun, but really wasn't. Really. Have do to that every day too. Yay.
Then Walking Practice, since i am still relying too much on right leg while not pushing the left one. Have to walk up and down heel-to-toe a lot, to stop putting right leg down so quickly. This again was more painful than you'd think.

Overall, she seemed pleased with the amount of movement and I need to push it and try to stop unconciously (and sometimes conciously ;p) favouring it. Which sounds very familar.

As far as the orthotic from the podiatrist went, she thought it was No Good, as what I actually needed was just heel raise. Also the orthotics are quite hard, with no give at all in them, which does not work well when there's no give in your foot either, so instead she made me a heel raise out of foamy stuff, which *does* give. Have that now to try for the next few days to see how it goes.

So, painful (as expected) but Positive I think. Back again Friday for more fun.

Decided against going back to work, so instead may write the full tale of How I Knackered Myself Good and Proper, for your delight and edification. Or ignoring ;) Then I will shut up about the whole thing.

Wobble boards and football wiggling... sound like they belong in the Royal It's A Knock-Out.
Yay indeed for foamy stuff!
I am all for the Tale of How I Knackered Myself Good and Proper. Illustrated.
Maybe in the style of LolCats?!?

*grins* it SOUNDS like fun, but it's like amusing torture. Amusing for anyone watching that is!

Tale is told, at greater length than expected, in the next post. Tho there are pictures! Well, links to pictures :p

It sounds like *that sort* of "fun". Much more for spectators.

I broke my foot a couple of months back and it still gives me gripe. I didn't and still haven't seen any medical professionals though. I recomend the route you have taken to recovery very highly!!

Is there any way that you could include a description of your front bottom in your tale of How You Knackered Yourself Good and Proper?

No.

Tho. Hmm. It may appear during the The Hospital Stay if i get round to that, as SPECIAL LADY TIME coincided with the operation and i recall having a bizarre fear while on NO FOOD and lots of drugs that they wouldn't operate because of it.
