First they find the True Cross. Then rewrite American History (and save a handily topical black presidential candidate). ANd this week? BOUDICEA. Oh and rewriting the history of Rome too.
OH DEAR GOD A big soppy speech about how archaeology IS LIEK DREAMS. I may throw up.

What i want to know, is where are the burnt mounds? Where are the 'anomalous features'? The random undateable pits?? The sitting in the mud for HOURS finding fuck all? THE GOING TO THE PUB?

Bah. BAH I say.

*twitch* We watched the first ep. Usually, bad shows hold a special appeal for us, as in "OMG it's so bad we have to see what happens next". This went far beyond that in the first week.

Yesterday, my wife made a good call. At about quarter to eight, she said to me "Ooh! If we plan carefully, we could accidentally miss Bonekickers!" I agreed, and I'm happy to see that the plan was Good.

See, i am a big fan of BAD tv. I love to sit and yell at the screen. But this was just... unwatchable. Last week's was really dull!

This week's did provide many more yelling opportunities, despite the fact that I was only watching bits in between making food and doing various other things, but was So. Very. BAD. I may excuse myself from watching any more of them.

There were NO PIG BONES. On the CALCIFIED (wtf?) corpse of boudicea, then FLASHBACKS of her looking remarkably young and pretty. And clean. Til she stabbed herself and the cave blew up.

This NEVER happened to me when I was digging. NOTHING ever blew up. I feel cheated.
