Had a very pleasant evening last night (horrors on facebook aside), went to ride Ziggy then came home and had popcorn and fizzy wine. Happy Birthday to meee!

Gardener George also called and says he can come skim/paint the kitchen walls this week. Hurrah!

BUT. Now i have to pick a colour. HELP ME LJ! I was originally thinking creamish, but... the floor is cream and the tiles are cream and brown and would cream walls be all Too Much?

As a reminder, kitchen now looks like

with... about one and a half blank walls needing painted.

What colour would YOU pick, oh LJ?

If it's a kitchen/diner, it gets more complicated.

Kitchens work best with blue or green shades as they repel flies. Dining rooms work best with deep red shades as they make the room seem smaller and focus on the centre.

I think that something in the range of pale yellow to pale pink would work best (and yes, that does include cream. Sorry).

I believe so - this is what I was Taught at School in Home Economic (don't laugh). That said, I've never seen a green or blue kitchen.

I quite like your idea of sage green to go with a black and grey kitchen.

I'm trying to remember kitchens I've seen. My parents' is pink. A friends was purple. And I can't remember specific colours in any others. Weird. Might be because kitchens tend to have plenty of stuff in them to distract you from the walls.

Thanks. Hope it works out. Thinking of dark green blinds. That will go with the outside of the windows too. We probably won't paint for a while though, to save money.

yup, kitchen diner ;p Cream round the cupboards etc is fine, I'm mostly worried about the back wall (where all the coats are), because that will run right down to the cream tiles, and it might be Too Much Cream, so i might make that one wall... soemthing else, pale pink maybe

You could paint it all cream for now, and see what you think in a while. Cream is easy paint over :-)

That is actually a very cunning plan. And given time contraints, may well be what happens ;p
